Instead of doing fireworks this year, we decided to fly sky lanterns. So each one of us wrote our wishes, dreams, and goals for the upcoming year, and sent our lanterns to the sky.

Let’s just say that our attempts were successful. There were just few mishaps that drove us hysterical. lol.

And with this, I bring you my list of goals for the upcoming year!

1. Get a diving license. Go to Palawan. Either El Nido or Coron
2. Go to either (or all) the following places: Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam
3. Start a “Start-Up” (online services, selling of goods, etc)
4. Invest in a condo unit in Cebu or in the provincial areas in the Philippines (Bohol, Leyte, etc) where it’s cheaper
5. Go to 3 or more trade shows in Taiwan
6. Find business opportunities. Try all
7. Do an internship
8. Tour the whole of Taiwan on budget
9. Earn an average of 70,000/month (This shouldn’t be impossible if I get a job or sell stuff)
10. Start an online forum
11. Get hired
12. Join a world organization, contribute

I am hoping to achieve all of these before 2012 ends. Wish me luck. 加油！Hwaiting!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!

Much to my surprise, I actually wrote a couple of things that I wanted to change/achieve for the year 2011. It’s the end of the year and I guess it is the right time to review what I have achieved so far.

Here’s my 2010 list:

1. be more social. meet new people.
2. engage in a new hobby. photography.
3. be back in the gym [again since i will need to lose the extra pounds i have gained in taiwan] and actually talk with other people in the gym besides the instructors.
4. have time for everything- which means i need to budget my time more effectively.
5. find my talent. hone it. make time for it. USE it.
6. focus.
7. learn to give more. break the invisible barriers. love more.
8. have one definite goal.

to sum it all up:

1. i will be good at  ONE thing, and use it to pursue my goal.
2. i will improve my “personal life”.
3. i will get an MBA.

I think I pretty much did well, but I still lack that ONE thing that is going to drive me. Maybe I should focus on the Internet business since I love the internet anyway. Yes, I guess I can say that the Internet is my passion. I am too in love with it.

Although I may not have a definite goal to act upon yet, it’s still good to write stuff down. Thinking about goals is one thing, writing it down makes it more solid and attainable.

So, yes. Let me think about it for a while.

i am the universe, the universe is in me and the universe and i combine together to achieve my goals.

people are leaving as soon as tomorrow, and it’s such a shame that i won’t be able to see everyone all-together again. time flies so fast and friends come and go. i will miss the people here, for sure. i didn’t expect to meet so many people that would turn out to be good friends, but i’m happy i have. i just hope that i will see them again- sometime in the future, who knows? our paths may cross again…

i still hope to come back to taiwan to study. it’s a good place, and i don’t want to leave it for sure.

today. i had one chance. but i missed it. it wasn’t my fault. just that i did not expect it, and the opportunity just passed by. without me even knowing. bad luck… maybe? bad timing? not meant to be?

well, if it’s not going to happen, THEN NOTHING WILL HAPPEN.

and then i shall move on.

will this one thing change something in the future though? that’s what i’m just counting on. it will make this worth it. and ease my feelings of regret.

mickey found this small american restaurant called california grill that served american burgers/snacks/beer. i took a picture of the map from the computer beforehand so we could find the place easily- and we did.

we found mickey, the new american boys mason and steven and xiaomei already seated. talked a bit and got our orders. i had a chicken teriyaki burger with fries and an iced tea. food was a little bit more expensive as compared to other fast food places, but it was relatively good. mickey and the boys were going to some event that night but i skipped it since i was feeling sick the other day and i didn’t want to get sick again— the rest of the time, we just walked around zhongshao dunhwa and zhongshao fuxing area before we took the 299 bus going home.

january 17: i went out with yadia and rashon for dinner at the taipei main station, the most convenient place for us to go eat. we went to the breeze center foodcourt where i had steak- bloody steak since i think it was still cooking on the sizzling plate. was worth it though. after dinner, we went to this very high end mall where we had cold rock ice cream. very very expensive ice cream, but it was ok to treat myself that at least once- at least before i leave taiwan. so i had the same cookie dough flavor which was insanely sweet- but just the way i like it. we looked around the mall, then went home afterwards. there wasn’t actually much to see since everything was expensive.

january 18: i sprained my right ankle while walking down the street. just walking. idk why these things happen to me really. no one sprains their ankle while walking, and not even in heels.

january 19: i missed class because early in the morning, it must have been 5am, because the sun wasn’t up yet— my foot hurt so much that i couldn’t go back to sleep again. i couldn’t even step on it. so, there was no way for me to get to the classroom. yadia gave me pain reliever/anti inflammatory pills so i took one. later on, during midday, i could already walk- so i went out to buy lunch and then see the doctor. what annoyed me was that i paid 300NT just to have the doctor prescribe me some painkillers. when i got in his office, he just asked me what happened– typed stuff on his computer, and told me he was going to give me some meds, without even looking at my foot. what kind of doctor does that? is it supposed to be normal in taiwan? but anyway, i asked him a lot of questions like- should i ice it, elevate it, or wrap it or whatever… but he said just rest… 休息， 休息。。。 就好了。 so that’s why it’s in the book. anyway, i took the meds and hoped that i could get my foot better fast.

january 23: went to ximen to have dinner with yadia and rashon. i didn’t want to go anywhere far, where i had to do a lot of walking because it might even make the healing process of my foot longer. we wanted to have pizza that night so we went to the italian restaurant – saizeriya. then, yadia had her lips pierced again, and then we went home.

january 24: did nothing but go to mass and have lunch at the canteen near the boys dorm. injured foot didn’t permit me to go anywhere else. i hope next week would be more interesting.
